Christina Flowers is best known for her use of color and interpretation of abstract moments realized in her hard edge paintings. Trained first as an Architect and Industrial Designer, Christina approaches her work with structure and rhythm. Bold colors and forms are a constant in her artwork which is influenced by the architecture of landscape. The study of color relationships and the illusion of transparency are frequently explored in her work.
Christina paints primarily with acrylic on canvas. She also creates works on paper in both acrylic and gouache. In recent work she has been drawn to the exploration of liminal spaces. (Between night and day, earth and sky, sleep and wakefulness, between the seasons.) She continues to explore these moments and the emotions evoked within them.
Christina’s artworks live in collections around the world. Her paintings have been featured in Domino, Real Simple, HGTV and Rue magazine.
